First Nations and Inuit of Quebec Tourism Industry Symposium

Wendake, January 15, 2010

Following the success of the activity in 2007, the Quebec Aboriginal Tourism Corporation (QATC) is hereby inviting its members, its partners as well as the Aboriginal tourism entrepreneurs and players to its forthcoming biennial provincial gathering.

The 2010 First Nations and Inuit of Quebec Tourism Industry Symposium will be held at the Hotel Val-des-Neiges in Beaupré from next March 23rd to 25th inclusively. This event will focus on the promotion of ethical and sustainable best practices in the industry. To that end,  accredited training sessions, workshops and conferences will be provided under the following theme: Aboriginal and Inuit tourism: from self-reinforcement to commercialization.

In the spirit of development and support for entrepreneurship, a new aspect is being added to the scheduling for 2010. The Young Leaders activity will promote and recognize the work of the young entrepreneurs in the tourism field between the ages of 18 and 35 years. After being under the spotlight during the first luncheon of the Symposium, these young entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their tourism service offer and thereby increase their contact network.

This Symposium, which will provide many networking opportunities over the three days of activities, will allow for many discussions between the members, entrepreneurs, partners as well as the host organization. For those who desire increased visibility in terms of their products or services, it is also possible to reserve a promotional kiosk.

Thanks to the ongoing support of its partners, the QATC is pleased to once again offer simultaneous translation services that will enable the active participation of everyone in the activities. “The QATC is looking to fulfill its organization’s bilingual mandate and encourage the attendance of English-speakers at this unique meeting”, declared Mr. Pierre Philippe, Executive Director of the organization.

Please confirm your presence with the QATC before February 15th in order to benefit from preferential benefits. Please contact us at: Email: info@staq.net    Telephone:  (418)-843-5030   Toll free: 1 877 698-7827
